
Origin and history
The brand is part of the German family conglomerate Schwan-Stabilo, founded in 1855 in Nuremberg as the pencil factory “Grossberger & Kurz”. In 1865, the company was acquired by the Schwanhäuser family and renamed Schwan Bleistiftfabrik, and the stork symbol (swan) became the logo and emblem of quality
Stabilo brand
In 1925–1927, the “Stabilo” product line was launched - initially as a product name (pencil), and from 1976 - part of the official company name Schwan-Stabilo
Business development
In 1992, the brand was divided into two: Stabilo International GmbH (pens) and Schwan Cosmetics (cosmetics)
